DOCO Celebrates All Things Local at River City Marketplace Pop-Up on October 5
Sacramento, Calif. – DOCO (Downtown Commons) is excited to announce a family-friendly River City Marketplace Pop-Up event on the Plaza on Saturday, October 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to visiting more than 30 amazing restaurants, eateries, retailers and shops located throughout the Plaza, the community is invited to connect with local creatives while exploring some of the region's best makers and enjoying interactive activations during this special event.
With live music provided by DJ Zephyr, roaming street performers, live art and approximately 40 makers – such as Calling All Dreamers finalist Leash and Collar and up-and-coming jewelry designer Disco Cloud Designs – a few of the highlighted activities include the following:
- 11 a.m. – Drop-in yoga “On the Green” presented by Afro Yoga
- Noon – Live spray painting provided by Grey Matter, Rigo and Fisko
- 2 p.m. – DIY workshop to build their own Japanese-style kokedama plants
- 2 p.m. – Jewelry making workshop presented by Capital City Beads
- All day – Hands-on art corner where children (and the young-at-heart) can paint and work with clay
All participants and activations are subject to change and more are likely to be added for this special event.
