DOCO Proudly Presents Free “On the Green” Movie Showing of COCO on Sunday Evening, October 28
Sacramento, Calif. – DOCO (Downtown Commons) is excited to present a free “On the Green” outdoor movie showing of COCO on Sunday evening, October 28, 2018, that will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. Leading up to the movie showing, DOCO has partnered with Sol Collective to offer free activities for children that will include making Dia de los Muertos paper marigolds and having their faces painted in traditional designs. The free, hands-on crafts will begin at 5:30 p.m. and guests of all ages are welcome. Additionally, Telemundo (T33) will be on-site to meet guests and introduce the movie.
COCO – a Disney film inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday -- will play on a 25-foot outdoor movie screen on special display at DOCO plaza. Moviegoers can listen on one of the free headsets available to check-out and borrow (while supplies last) or through the listen app on individual smartphones and earbuds. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket or borrow one available on-site (while supplies last); no lawn chairs please. While movie viewing is free, guests who make a minimum $20 DOCO food purchase between 6-9 p.m. on the day of the event can enter and enjoy a special VIP seating area for an optimal experience.
“We are thrilled the community is discovering and delighting in the amazing DOCO plaza that is quickly becoming a dynamic destination all its own in the very center of our city,” said John Rinehart, President of Business Operations for the Sacramento Kings. “This green space adjacent to Golden 1 Center offers great opportunities to present free community and cultural events that allow the community to gather, connect and celebrate together each and every day.”
The movie screening of COCO is one of a series of “On the Green” events and activities that started debuting at the DOCO plaza earlier this month. All “On the Green” activities are subject to change (based on weather and other conditions) and will continue in future months; please check the website often for updates and/or more detailed information: www.docosacramento.com.
