Downtown Commons Brunch Added to Highly Anticipated Sixth Annual Farm-to-Fork Festival Line-Up
First Annual Event to Take Place in the DOCO Plaza on September 23
Event Will Feature Local Chefs and Celebrate Sacramento’s Agricultural Tradition
On Sunday, September 23, Downtown Commons will host a brunch as part of the 2018 Farm-to-Fork Festival in the Downtown Commons plaza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featuring food from DOCO chefs and various farm-to-table favorites, the brunch will be served in family-style fashion and include food and drink stations.
“There is no better place to showcase Sacramento’s thriving food scene than at the center of the city’s emerging entertainment and lifestyle district,” said Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart. “This brunch is a celebration of the Farm-to-Fork lifestyle that has always been integral to Sacramento’s identity, inspiring businesses, including Golden 1 Center, to incorporate farm-fresh food and sustainable practices.”
“We’re thrilled to see the Sacramento Kings and DOCO adding to the wide variety of events happening throughout Farm-to-Fork Month,” said Visit Sacramento CEO Mike Testa. “The organization has walked the Farm-to-Fork sourcing walk since opening day, and it’s celebrations like these that provide authentic experiences for our residents and visitors, while also giving the community a chance to get to know the people who make our region America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital.”
Entertainment at the event will include larger-than-life versions of popular board games including Checkers, Jenga, Cornhole and Connect Four as popular DJs MyCousinVinny and Mike Diamond provide live music.

“We are excited to embrace the spirit of America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital with a signature event that brings the best of Sacramento, its people and its food, together at the most exciting destination for shopping, dining and entertainment” said JMA Ventures President Todd Chapman. “DOCO is the perfect location for an unrivaled event experience to enhance the local favorite Farm-to-Fork Festival.”
The brunch will take place in the shadow of Golden 1 Center, the world’s most sustainable arena. Thanks to world-class innovations like powering the facility entirely with solar energy or a “farm-to-court” program honoring Sacramento’s reputation as “America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital” by sourcing 90 percent of its food and beverage program from a network of local farms, the Sacramento Kings have been recognized by industry leaders worldwide. Golden 1 Center is the first indoor sports arena in North America awarded a prestigious LEED platinum rating and was honored as the Environmental Innovator of the Year by the Green Sports Alliance.
