Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar to Join DOCO
Sacramento’s First Champagne Bar Adds New Options at City’s Lifestyle and Entertainment District
Sacramento, Calif. – Today, the Sacramento Kings and JMA Ventures, LLC. announced Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar will join Downtown Commons (DOCO) and its premier lineup of restaurants and shops. Fizz, Sacramento’s first champagne bar, will open its 1050 square foot storefront this summer in Plaza East, across from the Northeast side of Golden 1 Center.
“DOCO is becoming the entertainment destination that Sacramento has long deserved,” said Sacramento Kings Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. “When Fizz opens its doors, downtown guests will have another fantastic experience option when heading to Golden 1 Center events or when touring the best Sacramento has to offer in the new city center.”
Chief Champagne Officer, creator and Sacramento native Raymond James Irwin brings his champagne and sparkling wine knowledge and experience to DOCO, sharing the everyday celebration of Fizz with Sacramento. Having traveled all over the world, Raymond James will bring drinks from as near as Clarksburg to as far away as South Africa – including products not available at other retailers in the region.
“People love champagne and sparkling wine but there’s no place to explore the many different types and styles of fizz – we are going to change that,” said Raymond James of Fizz. “Champagne and sparkling wine is exciting and full of energy – which is why we chose DOCO for our location.”
Fizz will provide a variety of experiences including a “grab-and-go” retail component and a Champagne Club. With a wide variety of small plates including duck fat fries, chips, oysters in the half shell, salads, cheese boards, sashimi and caviar, Fizz will be open before and after all events at Golden 1 Center, just steps away from the Sawyer Hotel.
DOCO is Sacramento’s emerging entertainment and lifestyle district, featuring Golden 1 Center – the world’s most technologically advanced and sustainable arena, the Sawyer Hotel, a boutique hotel operated by Kimpton, and the world’s only publicly-owned, permanently display Jeff Koons sculpture, as well as incredible dining, retail and entertainment options. Starting as a $1 billion investment with Golden 1 Center in Sacramento’s urban core, DOCO is at the heart of Sacramento’s downtown renaissance and will open nine more planned businesses and retailers this year. In the coming weeks, the third development phase of DOCO, Plaza East, will complete major construction and tenants will finalize their opening plans.
