Interactive Art Experience to Watch Muralist In-Action this Weekend
DOCO Announces New Interactive Art Experience
to Watch Muralist In-Action this Weekend
Sacramento, Calif. – DOCO (Downtown Commons), the Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center invite the community to watch as a talented muralist works to create a vibrant new mural this weekend, timed to coincide with the first home games for the Sacramento Kings.
The mural, to be created by talented artist and Sacramento State graduate JM Knudsen, who has also created approximately 40 murals throughout the city, will be an eye-catching piece that gives nod to a throwback video game along with various Sacramento icons including the Tower Bridge and Sacramento Kings. The 15’ X 8’ mural is made possible by the innovative owners of Identity Boutique and Getta Clue Store and will be located in the west plaza on the exterior wall near the two popular retail shops. As a fun interactive component and selfie spot, the mural allows kids and adults to hold out their hand as if they are holding a basketball.
For guests who want to experience the interactive art in action, the muralist will be on-site prepping the space on Friday, painting most of the day on Saturday and finishing up as needed on Sunday. The new mural will add to several other murals, visual and sound sculptures and other artistic activations located throughout the plaza for DOCO guests to enjoy.
