New Contemporary Mexican Restaurant, Polanco, to Open at DOCO in 2019

Sacramento, Calif. – Today, the Sacramento Kings, along with Moana Restaurant Group and 1100 Group, announced a contemporary new restaurant, Polanco, will join DOCO (Downtown Commons) later this year. With a lively and welcoming ambiance, the restaurant – 5,850 square feet in size in addition to an expansive outdoor patio – is an exciting, new dining concept for Moana Restaurant Group that will add more delicious options to Sacramento’s dynamic entertainment, shopping and lifestyle district.

Inspired by and named after a thriving district in Mexico City, Polanco will be located on the second level overlooking DOCO plaza (next to Macy’s and above Pressed Juicery).  The menu will feature authentic Mexican cuisine using high quality ingredients and a full-service bar with top-notch tequilas, margaritas and more.

“We are thrilled to continue to expand the culinary scene at DOCO,” said John Rinehart, President of Business Operations for the Sacramento Kings. “Moana Restaurant Group has a proven track record in the restaurant and hospitality industry, and is known for their focus on creating distinct, amazing and memorable dining experiences – all which will make Polanco a wonderful addition to DOCO.”

The vision for and opening of Polanco is part of a joint venture between Moana Restaurant Group and 1100 Group, both of which are based in the Bay Area. Moana Restaurant Group owns and operates a unique collection of inspired dining destinations and specializes in crafting unique dining experiences that are sophisticated yet approachable, vibrant and casually elegant. The company also operates the highly successful Piatti in the Pavilions – that first opened in 1992.

“Along with 1100 Group, we are excited to join DOCO and bring our lively dining venue to the Sacramento culinary scene,” said Jon Swanson, President of Moana Restaurant Group. “We are inspired by Sacramento’s local Farm-to-Fork motto; we look forward to celebrating it through food and experience at our new restaurant.”

The family-friendly restaurant will offer sit-down lunch, dinner and bar service and be open seven days a week. Construction is set to begin later this year with an expected opening in Fall 2019.
