School of Rock Performances & Makers Market

this Weekend at DOCO

-- Youth to Perform During DOCO Al Fresco with Physically Distanced Tables, Food and Drink Offerings, and Special Shopping Opportunities --

Sacramento, Calif. – DOCO (Downtown Commons), the Sacramento Kings, and Golden 1 Center are pleased to announce special plaza activations this weekend, May 29-30, that include entertaining live musical performances by the School of Rock | Elk Grove offered both days and an artisan Makers Market on Saturday.

A fast-growing private music school featuring talented youth musicians, between 80-90 musicians from School of Rock | Elk Grove will perform each day from 12 to 9:15 p.m. to entertain DOCO Al Fresco diners. The “rock stars in training” will perform selections from many different genres including industrial, old school hip hop, rock-centric brit pop and more.  The live music is free to experience and enjoy by plaza guests and DOCO Al Fresco diners.

In addition, the popular Makers Market will be set-up on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for plaza guests to shop from local vendors, crafters and artisans showcasing their hand-made goods and specialty items in the spacious, open-air environment.

DOCO Al Fresco is offered Fridays from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 9 p.m., weather permitting, with free live musical entertainment scheduled regularly. The six DOCO restaurants and beverage providers for the ongoing “Al Fresco” experience include Echo & Rig, Local Eats at Golden 1 Center, Polanco Cantina, Sauced BBQ & Spirits, Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar, and Yard House. With 55 physically distanced tables on the common areas of the main plaza, DOCO Al Fresco can accommodate up to 150 guests. This seating is in addition to the extended outdoor seating currently offered by several DOCO restaurants and eateries.

For DOCO Al Fresco diners in groups smaller than five, walk-ins are welcome (no advance reservations are available).  For groups of six to twelve, advanced reservations are available (walk-ins are welcome based on seating availability). To request reservations for groups of 13 or more, please visit docoalfresco@legends.net (include name, preferred date, time, and number in party). Once seated, diners scan a QR code from their mobile device and choose from pull down menus of the participating DOCO restaurants. Powered by Rooam, a user-friendly app allows diners to order from multiple restaurants at once and watch live progress of their selections as they are received, prepared, and delivered to the table. All beverages, including beer, wine, and cocktails, will be serviced from the Tahoe Blue Ridge Bar on the plaza and ordered while seated at individual tables. Guests can receive one check – regardless of how many restaurants they ordered from – or opt for multiple checks by individual order and pay via a seamless and contactless system that includes Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit/debit card options.
